It's Not Rocket Science
Gaming on a PC that you built yourself is amazing, but building the PC can be daunting. There are so many things that can go wrong, and so many "experts" out there offering bad advice, that it can be too confusing to get started. I created Blackbird PC Tech to break through the noise and offer a trusted one stop shop to help guide you on your PC building journey. Once you understand the basics it will be easy to see how building a PC is just like building Lego. And when I say "It's Not Rocket Science" you can trust me because I am a rocket scientist ... I designed the world's fastest helicopter, I led AI for the world's largest defense contractor and I've been building PC's for over 20 years. It's more than a hobby for me, it's a passion and I can't wait to share it with you.
Why Blackbird PC Tech?
There are so many "experts" out there providing opinions on how to best build PC systems. Unfortunately most of them have no technical background and therefore don't understand the physics behind many of the choices that you need to make when building your PC. Things like fan placement, radiator orientation, thermal paste application, location of support brackets, cable routing, etc. can all have a significant impact on the thermals of your system, which in turn will impact your ability to run stable and overclock. I've watched some of the largest tech YouTubers provide "definitive" advice that is simply wrong. So how am I different?
I am an Aerospace Engineer that has had a successful 20+ year career in Aerospace & Defense. In 2004 I designed the Sikorsky X2 Technology demonstrator, which is the fastest helicopter in the world and was awarded the Collier Trophy in 2011. I am a recipient of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Orville & Wilbur Wright Award, which is awarded for significant research contributions to the aerospace engineering field. I was the first Chief Engineer of Sikorsky Innovations, I was the first Chief Data & Analytics Officer and first Vice President of Artificial Intelligence for Lockheed Martin and I was a Senior Vice President for AI at Booz Allen Hamilton. More importantly, I've been playing PC games and building PC's for 20+ years. From my first PC, which was an 8086 Amstrad with 5.25" drives and no HDD, to the amazing systems that I build today based on the latest enthusiast components.
When I first upgraded a CPU in a custom Voodoo PC system that I purchased, I was terrified that I would screw it up ... I remember sweating as I applied the thermal paste and hoping that I didn't destroy the PC because I didn't have enough money to replace it. I created Blackbird PC Tech to help you build without fear. When I say "It's Not Rocket Science" you can trust that I know what that actually means ... I love tech and I want to help you build your dream system. Hopefully your passion for PC building will grow as you learn more and you will be able to confidently build more complicated systems. I can't wait to see what our community builds next.
